I am publicly declaring that, as of today, I will no longer be held hostage to the spurious "Godwin's Law."
The simple fact is that the Republican Party is now the Tea Party, a radical, nutjob group. They are, to all intents and purposes, a mirror image of the ways and means of the National Socialist, aka Nazi, Party.
It is a group of thuggish, gangsterish rich men using a group of insane pedagogues to stir up the worst impulses of a scared, ignorant, poor people. It uses racism, class consciousness, and nationalism to promote itself. It tells big lies, so that people will believe it - it must be true, because no one would lie that big in public if they might get caught. They prey on the un-confronted fears and prejudices of a nation that has fallen from grace into poverty and uncertainty - without a strong economy, uncertain security in the face of terrorism, we can't afford the luxury of pretending that racial hatreds, homophobia, denigration of women, religious prejudice and the ignorance it engenders have been conquered. They're. Right. There.
The Tea Party is the Nazi Party for the 21st Century, and, as long as it exists, as long as it has a public forum, as long as its financial backers are given a free pass, this nation cannot recover.
