I Feel Like I Should Say Something
In the midst of all this insanity -- Schofield's inhibited, Duncan's not, Lambeth is on, San Joaquin's Standing Committee is off.
But I'm just too damn tired.
First, let me say, publicly and loudly I AM VERY PROUD OF PRESIDING BISHOP SCHORI! WELL DONE!
Second, I'll give what advice to my fellow Episcopalians I can regarding Reasserters.
My advice is what it has been. Kick them out. We won't be "cut off" from conservatives, even if they all leave, because we still have to share a world with them. It's not dehumanizing them to say "We stand for something you try to destroy. Sorry, but it's not working out, and there are many denominations out there who will welcome your views. See you around town as always."
As for the rest, we just have to trust God.
More important things are going on: James is filming his movie. My sister-in-law is recovering from surgery. Quail Unlimited's coming into the hotel this week. I've got folks who need a friendly face to talk to when they're away from home. Two members of our congregation have had serious health setbacks. It's freakin' cold!
I can't change the attitude of some Reasserter in Jack Iker's diocese, but I may be able, by simply carrying on, to do something for some rabid right-wing Baptist here and change their perception a bit.
