This is basically the case in San Joaquin.
As I've said, will continue to say, and the Reasserter behavior bears me out, they are just bad peoople.
Episcopal Life carries an account of Schofield, whose self-loathing has apparently done things to his mind, at least in my opinion,
threatening missions who didn't play his game.
We've got to do what we can to help these loyal Episcopalians. We really didn't know (didn't care to find out?) how mistreated they were under this abusive and entirely unwholesome bishop and his dog-collared thugs, but we know now and have to act. Will 815 do anything before it's too late? Probably not -- they've already been told to saddle their own horses, remember?
We can't move the HoB to go any faster - if at all - on deposing Schofield and declaring the See vacant, but we can still pressure our individual bishops, and priests, to do what is necessary to provide some sort of real ministerial presence to these folks. In addition, surely
we have some lawyers in our liberal midst, too. Not all lawyers can possibly be Reasserters -- there must be
some decent lawyers! Help these people!
Here's the
website for loyal Episcopalians in San Joaquin needing your help.
I think, too, we can all agree this is a real and immediate test of our leadership. If at least
something doesn't come from the PB within the next few days, it would take only the most unrealistic of optimists to believe we have a viable national leadership.
This crisis has shown that there will have to be major changes in the leadership - specifically, episcopal leadership - in this church once this is over, or before it's over if it drags out much longer under the current absolute mismanagement.
